Determine if you are connecting the audio to a home theater receiv er or directly to the TV: F or an HDMI or IEEE-1 394 video connection, no additional audio connections to the TV are required. F or a D VI video connection, additional audio connections to the TV are required. If the receiver or TV has a digital audio (SPDIF) input, use the Digit al A udio (SPDIF) output. Other wise, use the lef t and right (RCA phono) audio outputs. Locate the cabling diagram(s) that best matc h the conguration. Connect the audio and video cables in a manner matc hing that diagram. Connect the Cable In terminal to the coaxial cable wall outlet. Connect the pow er cord to the set-top and the electrical wall outlet. P erform the operational c hec k for the remote control. Optimize the high-denition set tings. High-Denition TV (HDTV) or monitor Use the HDMI, component video (YPbPr), or IEEE-1 394 outputs. If the TV has no HDMI input but does hav e a D VI input, connect a D VI-to-HDMI adapter or cable to the HDMI out connector on the DCX set-top and the D VI input connector on the TV. Standard-Denition TV Use the RF Out connector on the DCX set-top, if the TV does not support S-Video or composite video connections. Additional inf or mation for adjusting user set tings The DCX set-top User Set tings menu allows y ou to adjust the video, audio, and closed captioning conguration of the set-top. The User Set tings menu can be accessed from the DCX set-top remote by pressing Power and then Menu within 2 seconds.
